Presentation
I am Associate Professor in Political Science and Senior Lecturer in Gender Studies at UCGS. I also have a position as Guest Senior Lecturer in Political Science at Karlstad University. At UCGS I teach at the following courses; Gender Studies: Feminist Theory and Intersectional Analysis (15 credits) and Gender Studies: Critical Perspectives on Nordic Gender Equalities (15 credits), both on master level. I am also in charge of the introductory module at our C-course in Gender Studies (the basic level).
In my research I have a broad interest in issues concerning politics and democracy with a focus on critical (policy) studies of gender (equality). I am also interested in the dimensions of place/space/territory in analyses of power and influence, as well as feminist political theory and methodology issues. In my on-going research I study how gender equality is produced in three different areas: general gender equality policy, regional policy/growth policy and within the academy as an organisation. These study areas are related to the following three research projects, where I also am the project leader:
TITAN – Theorizing Politics and Practice. Critical Studies of Gender Equality (funded by the Swedish Research Council 2012 – 2016) together with researchers from UCGS, Gothenburg University, Karlstad University and Stockholm University.
The Perfect City 2.0 – Building the Sustainable Kiruna (funded by Umeå University through a career grant for young scholars 2011-2013) together with Johanna Overud and Linda Sandberg
Sustainable Structural Change – Possibility or Utopia? (funded by the State Commission for Gender Equality in Higher Education 2010-2013) together with Maria Carbin and Britt-Inger Keisu.
In addition I am also on the board of (and former chair of) the Swedish Association for Gender Research (http://www.genusforskning.org/) and Senior Editor for NORA – Nordic Journal of Feminist and Gender Research (http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/titles/08038740.asp).
